Cowen, W.Va. – Webster Nursing & Rehabilitation Center (N&RC) has received the prestigious 2018 Bronze National Quality Award from the American Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL).

“The Bronze award exemplifies a dedication to positively impacting quality,” said Mark Parkinson, President and CEO of AHCA/NCAL. “I am proud to spotlight our members for their relentless drive to advance our nation’s skilled nursing centers and assisted living communities.”

Implemented by AHCA/NCAL in 1996, the National Quality Award Program is centered on the core values and criteria of the Baldrige Performance Excellence Program. The program assists providers of long term and post-acute care services in achieving their performance excellence goals.

The Bronze – Commitment in Quality Award represents that Webster N&RC has developed an organizational profile with essential performance elements such as vision, mission statements, and an assessment of customers’ expectations. Bronze applicants must also demonstrate their ability to implement a performance improvement system. Trained examiners review each Bronze application to determine if the center has met the demands of the criteria.

The program has three levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Facilities begin the quality improvement process at the Bronze level and must receive an award at each level before proceeding to the next. As a recipient of the Bronze– Commitment in Quality award, Webster N&RC may now move forward in developing approaches and achieving performance levels that meet the criteria required for the Silver – Achievement in Quality award.

American Medical Facilities Management (AMFM) centers have been the recipients of more than 25 AHCA/NCAL National Quality Awards since 2012.

“Our AMFM brand of caring is very much in line with the values of this award,” said Tammy Jo Painter, vice president of compliance for AMFM. “The continual improvement process and receiving the award is a fantastic benefit to our patients, their families and our communities.”
