AMFM COVID-19 Update

Summers Nursing & Rehabilitation Center continues testing all patients, employees for COVID-19

Published on Oct 28, 2020

October 28, 2020 – Summers Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is updating our community on our efforts to identify and isolate cases of COVID-19 within our center. As a result of aggressive testing and monitoring, we have identified the following COVID-19 test results:

• 6 patients tested positive.

• 3 employees tested positive.

Our COVID-positive patients are being cared for in isolation areas and the employees are quarantining at home. We continue to screen employees for signs and symptoms of COVID-19, and have employees assigned to specific care areas. Additionally, Environmental employees are continuously cleaning commonly touched surfaces (doorknobs, handrails, desk, etc…) during day and evening shifts. We continue to receive personal protective equipment (PPE) and other supplies needed.

“We have received some tremendous support from our community and our patients and employees truly appreciate their thoughts and prayers,” said Summers Nursing & Rehabilitation Center Executive Director Shellie Bailey. “We encourage everyone in the community to continue to follow mask and social distancing guidelines.”

Visitation with loved ones at the center is restricted per the policy outlined by the Office of Health Facility Licensure and Certification (OHFLAC). Please remember you may request a Televisit (Zoom, Skype) to stay in touch with your loved one here: https://bit.ly/3i53y19
