Final Three AMFM Nursing & Rehabilitation Centers receive COVID-19 Vaccine

Published on Dec 17, 2020

V-Day, dubbed for Vaccination Day, is here for the final three AMFM Nursing & Rehabilitation Center’s (N&RC) patients and employees that did not receive COVID-19 vaccines earlier this week.

Clay and Braxton Health Care Centers are holding vaccination clinics today, December 17.

Fayette Nursing & Rehabilitation Center will be vaccinating patients and employees on Friday, December 18.

“Originally, we anticipated not having the vaccines for our final three centers until next week,” said AMFM President Todd Jones. “I’m elated and thankful that we have received more vaccines than we initially thought and all our AMFM centers will have received vaccines by the end of the week.”

The AMFM leadership team worked with the State of West Virginia to request vaccines for more 2,000 employees and more than 1,200 patients statewide. AMFM decided not to use Walgreens or CVS as the administrator of the vaccine and opted to have it administer¬ed by their own in-house pharmacy.
Shep Campbell, licensed pharmacist and Vice President of Pharmacy Services for Lifetree Pharmacy, took the helm of the major rollout of the vaccine by providing vaccine education via Zoom meetings to employees and in turn, information was shared with patients and family members.

“All our COVID-19 vaccination clinics have gone very quickly and smoothly as our patients and employees were educated and prepared for vaccines,” Campbell said. “This is the light at the end of the tunnel for our patients and employees as well as the long-term care profession.”

AMFM’s 16 other centers received and held vaccination clinics earlier this week on Tuesday.
