Sutton, W.Va. – Braxton Health Care Center (HCC) has received recognition from the American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA), the only professional group devoted solely to meeting the professional needs of post-acute and aging services leaders.

Braxton HCC Executive Director Jody Beall will receive the Eli Pack Facility Leadership Award for meeting identified measures of clinical achievement, good service, and compliance excellence. The award was named in memory of ACHCA member Eli Pack, a former executive director of the Ballard Rehabilitation Center, DesPlaines, IL for over 30 years. Pack embodied excellence as an Administrator that cared for his residents, their families, and his community.

Based on the premise that facility excellence reflects leadership excellence, this award recognizes the Administrator of record who provided such leadership for the full 2018 calendar year. Eligibility for this award is based on three years of skilled nursing facility (SNF) survey data, including the Health, Fire Safety, and Complaint Surveys, as well as top quartile performance on designated Quality Measures. The criteria also include at least an 80% or greater facility occupancy and a three-year avoidance of a Special Focus Facility status. This prestigious award is made possible with the support of ABILITY® Network Inc.

Only 7% of facilities nationwide qualified. This year, 1,129 facilities met the selection criteria. Two hundred and eighty-six administrators in 35 states were awarded the facility leadership award nationally. Founded in 1962, the ACHCA focuses on advancing leadership excellence and provides education and certification to administrators from across a spectrum of long-term care.

The 65-person skilled nursing and rehabilitation center has received numerous recognitions for quality care during the past two years. Braxton HCC was the recipient of the 2018 Silver National Quality Award from the American Health Care Association/National Centers for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) Quality Awards Program.

In a national survey by My InnerView/National Research Corporation, Braxton HCC had 100% of patients and families surveyed who rated their overall satisfaction with facility services as "excellent and good." Of employees surveyed, 81% surveyed rated their overall job satisfaction as "excellent or good." The national average is 58%.

Braxton HCC has another award recognizing their commitment and dedication to the residents with two 2018 “Embracing Quality Award” from Providigm. Braxton HCC received the award for achieving exceptionally favorable customer satisfaction ratings and having a low risk of hospital readmissions.
