E. A. Hawse Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is the only center in US to receive all three levels of “Embracing Quality Award”
Charleston, W.Va. – AMFM Nursing & Rehabilitation Centers, the largest family-owned and operated West Virginia based skilled nursing and rehabilitation company, has received 12 2018 Embracing Quality Awards from Providigm, a data management systems company that mirrors the Quality Indicator Survey (QIS) process used by state surveyors for their annual inspection of nursing facilities.
Only 181 skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers were recipients of the award, and to be eligible for the award, centers had to achieve Providigm’s Basic or Advanced Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) Accreditation. More than 800 centers across the United States and Ontario, Canada received QAPI’s basic or advanced accreditation in 2018.
The winners were awarded for outstanding performances in one or more of three categories:
• attaining a deficiency-free survey in 2018;
• having a low risk adjusted rate of readmission to hospitals;
• and achieving exceptionally favorable customer satisfaction ratings.
Seven AMFM centers received the 2018 Embracing Quality Award for customer satisfaction ratings. Those centers are Braxton Health Care Center, Fayette, E. A. Hawse, McDowell, Wayne, Webster and Wyoming Nursing & Rehabilitation Centers (N&RCs).
Two centers, Braxton HCC and E. A. Hawse N&RC will receive the 2018 Embracing Quality Award for low hospital readmissions. This is an area of emphasis because of the many complications that may occur in sick and elderly patients transferring to and from the hospital.
Three AMFM centers received the 2018 Embracing Quality Award for deficiency-free state survey inspections. Fayette, E. A. Hawse, and Webster N&RCs all earned deficiency-free surveys during the awards criteria period.
E. A. Hawse N&RC is the only center in the United States and Canada that received the 2018 Embracing Quality Award for all three categories.
“Congratulations to all the teams at each center for continuing to provide excellence in quality care to our patients and their families,” said Tammy Jo Painter, vice president of compliance for AMFM. “Kudos to the team at E.A. Hawse for continuing to excel at providing exceptional care.”
Embracing Quality Award winners and QAPI Accredited nursing centers will be recognized at the 6th annual award celebration, the Buccaneer Bash, hosted by Providigm and Medline. The event will take place on March 18, 2019 at the AHCA/NCAL Quality Summit in Tampa, FL.
AMFM operates 18 skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers throughout West Virginia. They operate in Braxton, Boone, Clay, Cabell, Summers, Fayette, Hardy, Greenbrier, Webster, Wayne, McDowell, Lincoln, Wyoming, Harrison (Clarksburg & Bridgeport), Marshall, Taylor and Mercer counties.
