Charleston, W.Va. – American Medical Facilities Management (AMFM) has four of the top five rated skilled nursing and long-term care centers in West Virginia and 12 of the top 50 centers. Eleven of those centers are in the top 25% of W.Va. nursing homes. There are 124 facilities throughout the state.

The rankings come from the Centers for Medicaid/Medicare Services Five-Star Rating Program and data compiled and analyzed for long-term trends by the America Health Care Association/National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL).

E. A. Hawse and Webster Nursing & Rehabilitation Centers (N&RC) tied for the number one ranking in West Virginia. Coming in fourth is Clarksburg N&RC and McDowell N&RC ranked fifth.

Other centers in the top 30 rankings include Summers N&RC (12th), Clay Health Care Center (18th), Cameron and Fayette N&RC (tied for 20th), Wayne N&RC (26th) and Lincoln N&RC (30th). Bridgeport HCC (34th) and Wyoming N&RC (43rd) round out the top 50.

A Five-Star rating is the highest rating possible a skilled nursing facility (SNF) can receive. The ratings are calculated from a facility’s state survey results, quality measures and staffing levels. A star rating is provided for each of these sources, and then these ratings are combined to calculate an overall rating.

For the January 2020 reporting period, the following received a Five-Star Rating:

• Webster Nursing & Rehabilitation Center
• E. A. Hawse Nursing & Rehabilitation Center
• McDowell Nursing & Rehabilitation Center
• Clarksburg Nursing & Rehabilitation Center
